French Polynesia is known as one of the best destinations in the world for swimming with humpback whales and other marine animals. The dates of the whale season vary, but we generally observe whales between mid-July and mid-November, although launching is only permitted from August 1 to November 11. Polynesia is one of the few destinations where swimming with whales is permitted. Watch them evolve in their natural environment and share a unique moment with these magnificent giants.

Whale watching is not mandatory, and you can observe the whales from the boat. Our priority is the respect of the mammals and the safety of our passengers.

Our guide will authorize the entry in the water only when weather conditions and animal behavior are favorable.

Swimming with whales is swimming on the open sea of the Pacific Ocean. The rules of approach also require us to swim long distances to discreetly approach the animals.

This activity can be quite physically demanding, requiring the ability to swim and the effective use of snorkeling equipment (fins, mask and snorkel).

On our return to the lagoon, we'll also stop to swim with stingrays and blacktip sharks. This activity takes place on a shallow sandbar in the lagoon where you will be able to stand. This activity is accessible to all without any particular physical condition.

Description

PLEASE NOTE

Unfortunately, we can't guarantee that you'll swim with a whale during your visit. Why not? We don't choose to swim with a humpback whale, it chooses to swim with us. We strongly recommend knowing how to swim and being very comfortable snorkeling to get in the water with the whales. Please note that we launch at a distance of 100 meters minimum from the whales. Depending on sea conditions and the attitude of the whales, the difficulty of the approach can vary considerably. If our passengers are unable to get into the water and follow the group, they can observe the whales from the boat. Our whale-watching trips take place on the open sea. If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend that you take precautions before the departure of the tour.
